Objective: Our main objective is to provide a positive atmosphere
where your child can develop mentally, socially, emotionally, physically, and
spiritually through well organized activities. Learning experiences,
appropriate for the developmental age of each group, are provided each day. Curriculum:
Our resources include the Scripture Bite Curriculum Guides as well as other
Christian material. The children experience learning through activity
centers such as art, blocks, books, homeliving, nature, and puzzles.
Activity teaching is used by sharing Bible thoughts, stories, and conversation
as preschoolers are in action. Music is provided each day in a special
classroom with our music teacher.
Discipline:
Our discipline policy is that of redirection by diverting a child to another
activity. If this does not work, a child may be placed in "time-out."
A continuing problem will be brought to the attention of the director at which
time a conference with the parents may be scheduled.
Schedule:
Tuesday and Thursdays, 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
PLEASE DO NOT
drop children off before 9:00 a.m.. Promptly pick children
up at 2:00 p.m.. Late fees ($1.00 for every five minutes late) will be assessed.
We will follow the Fayette County school calendar for all conference and snow
days. Fees:
A $100 deposit is required prior to the beginning
of a semester. It will be applied to a $25 registration fee per child per
semester and the first month's tuition. Tuition is $21 per day for the
first child and $18 per day for each additional child. Tuition is due even
when the child is absent. A two-week notice is required when withdrawing
from the program.
Personal Needs:
Parents are required to provide an extra change of
clothing as well as a sufficient amount of diapers for each day. Each
child should bring a fitted crib sheet and a blanket to use during rest time.
Mats provided by "His Kids" are vinyl covered and two inches thick.
Parents will provide a morning snack and juice for their child. Parents
are required to send a nutritious lunch for their child. State regulations
require that a food from each of the basic food groups (meat, fruit or
vegetable, bread or crackers) must be served. We provide 2% milk to be
served at meal time unless your child is allergic to milk. Pleae do not
send foodsw that need to be microwaved.
Parking: Please park in
a designated parking space rather than under the carport while dropping and
picking up your child.
Daily Reports: A daily report is filled out
for each child by the teachers and given to parents at the end of the day.
This report tells the parent what activities their child enjoyed, how well they
ate and rested, their behavior and other information.
Sickness:
We only accept children who are well. We are
depending on parents to help us maintain this policy. A CHILD MAY NOT COME
TO CLASS IF HE OR SHE HAS HAD VOMITING, DIARRHEA, OR A FEVER (100°F OR ABOVE)
WITHIN THE PAST 24 HOURS. We cannot accept children that have a contagious
illness. Should your child become ill during the day, we will contact you
as soon as possible. No medication (prescription or over-the-counter) can
be given by our staff.
Non-Discrimination Statement: The Mother's
Day Out Program of Porter Memorial Baptist Church does not discriminate in any
way in its hiring practices or in its acceptance of children.
